  15. 1) GAME PLAY INSTRUCTIONS -

  17. Online instructions are accessible while playing any of our
  18. games. After you enter your name and choose the difficulty level,
  19. hit the F1 key to go to online help. Here you will find the
  20. instructions you need to play the game. Hit any key or click
  21. the mouse to return to the game.

  24. 2) WHAT IS SHAREWARE
  25.  
  26. Shareware is a concept that has grown in popularity over the last 
  27. few years. Shareware is not freeware and it is not public domain
  28. software. Shareware is copyrighted software that is distributed
  29. for you to "try before you buy". This way you only buy games that
  30. you like - no more buying a game at the store only to find out that
  31. it isn't much fun.  Distribution and packaging costs are kept to
  32. a minimum, so the price of the software is lower.
  33. The shareware version of this game is intended for evaluation
  34. purposes only. It is a functional program with some of the
  35. difficulty levels and/or features disabled. You may use it freely
  36. and without any obligations for 30 days. If you like the game
  37. and continue playing it, you must buy it.
  38. If you have already purchased this game, you have the same rights
  39. that you have when you buy a program or game from your local
  40. computer store.

  43. 3) HOW TO ORDER OUR GAMES -
  44.  
  45. There are two ways to get the registered versions of our games -
  46.  
  47. a) When this game is installed, you will find an "order form"
  48.    icon in the Monty's Games for Windows Group. Just double click
  49.    on the icon and the Order Form will appear in Notepad.
  50.    Print the order form, fill it out, and mail it to MG Software.
  51.    We can send you the game(s) on floppy or sent you the unlocking
  52.    code via e-mail. The e-mail method saves you shipping costs.
  53.    You can also find a copy of the order form at our web site at
  54.    http://www.mgsoft.com - just click on the 'Order Form' hot link.
  55.    There is also a file "Order.frm" in the game directory. This file
  56.    can be printed using Notepad or Dos Edit.

  58. b) Some of our games can be ordered online. Go to our Web Site at
  59.    http://www.mgsoft.com and order the games(s) online with your
  60.    credit card thru a secure site.

  64. 4) HOW TO GET UNLIMITED FREE UPGRADES FOR REGISTERED GAMES -
  65.  
  66. All of the games have their own unlocking code. All future versions of
  67. a game will use the same unlocking code, so when we come out with a new
  68. version or upgrade, just download the new version and use your old code.
  69. This code is entered when the shareware screen is displayed at the start
  70. of each game. Just hit the 'C' key(as instructed) and enter the unlocking
  71. code. If you install the game on another hard drive you will need to
  72. enter the code again - so keep it in a safe place. The advantage of this
  73. system is simple - you get unlimited upgrades from http://www.mgsoft.com.
  74. The same unlocking key works for all versions of the same game.  This
  75. saves us the cost of packaging and shipping, so the games are very
  76. inexpensive.
  77. When you fill out and mail the ORDER FORM to MG Software, we will email
  78. you the unlocking code. If you prefer to receive the game(s) on floppy
  79. disks, just mark the shipping costs box on the order form and add $2
  80. ($3 international) to the order.

  92. 6) NOTES FOR USING THE FULL SCREEN IN WIN 95/98 -
  93.  
  94. Monty's Games like to run in a full screen.  If the TaskBar
  95. is in your way when you play any of Monty's Games, do this -
  96.    a) While in the Windows 95 desktop, click the Start button
  97.       at the bottom left corner of the screen.
  98.    b) Go to Settings and click Taskbar.
  99.    c) Put a check mark in [x] Auto Hide".
  100.    d) UNcheck [] Always on Top - this is optional - try it
  101.       both ways.
  102.    e) The other two options don't matter.
  103.  
  104. NOTE: The taskbar is only a problem for 640x480 screen resolution.

  107. 7) CREATING A SHORTCUT TO THE GAMES
  108.  
  109. Windows 95/98 users may want to create a shortcut to Monty's Games.
  110. (If you already have one don't do it again.)
  111.  
  112. NOTE: left click means clicking with the left mouse button.
  113.       right click means clicking with the right mouse button.
  114.  
  115. There are many ways to make a shortcut. This works -
  116.  
  117. a) Close the Monty's Games folder by clicking on the
  118.   'X' in the upper right corner of the window.
  119. b) RIGHT click Start (bottom left corner of the screen).
  120. c) Left click Open.
  121. d) Double left click Programs (in the Start Menu).
  122. e) Right click the folder "Monty's Games for Windows".
  123. f) Left click Create Shortcut.
  124. g) Drag the new folder "Shortcut to Monty's Games for Windows"
  125.    to the desktop.
  126. h) Close the Program window.
  127. i) Close the Start Menu window.

  130. 8) UNINSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
  131.  
  132. Monty's Games come in 32-bit and 16-bit versions.
  133. The 32-bit versions only install to Windows 95 or 98.
  134. The 16-bit versions install to Win 3.1, 95, or 98.
  135.  
  136. If you have installed 32-bit versions to Windows 95 or 98, you can
  137. uninstall any of the games by either double clicking the "Remove" icon
  138. for the game OR from the Control Panel by following this
  139. sequence of mouse clicks -
  140.    Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs,
  141.    now highlight the game and click the Add/Remove button.
  142.  
  143. Windows 3.1 has limitations when it comes to uninstalling programs. A
  144. Group can only have one uninstall icon associated with it. If that icon
  145. is clicked on, the last program to be installed will be uninstalled.
  146. This means if you install 4 games and double click on the uninstall
  147. icon, only the last installed game will be removed. The rest of the
  148. games will have to be uninstalled manually.
  149.  
  150. Monty's Games will be in one of these directories -
  151.   c:\montgams\               (16-bit Win 3.1,95, or 98) (no longer used)
  152.   c:\ProgramF\mgsoft\        (16-bit Win 3.1, or 32-bit Win 95/98) 
  153.   c:\Program Files\mgsoft\   (32-bit Win 95/98 only)
  154. Each game will be in its own directory below this path
  155.  
  156. To manually uninstall a 16-bit version -
  157.  
  158. Win 95/98 -
  159.   1) Double click Windows Explorer
  160.   2) In the left window highlight the Monty's Games directory
  161.   3) In the right window click on the game directory to remove -
  162.      it should now be highlighted
  163.   4) Click on File / Delete
  164.   5) Answer yes to sending everything in the directory to the recycle bin
  165.   6) From the desktop - double click Montys Games for Windows,
  166.       single click the game icon to be removed, click File | Delete | Yes.

  168. Win 3.1 -
  169.   1) From Program Manager, double click Main and double click File Manager
  170.   2) In the left window highlight the Monty's Games directory
  171.   3) In the right window click on the game directory to remove -
  172.      it should now be highlighted
  173.   4) Click File | Delete and follow the instructions
  174.   5) Go back to Program Manager, double click ôMontyÆs Games for Windows,
  175.      single click the game icon to be removed, click File | Delete | Yes.
